Columbia portable LB 208

by engbo » Thu Aug 03, 2006 8:14 am

While looking for a correct soundbox for my Decca Rally portable (see other posting) I found myself buying not a reproducer but another machine...
It's a German build Columbia LB 208 in blue/greenish rexine.
Can anyone tell me a bit more about this model?
-Year of production
-Model# of the reproducer
-And should there be a HMV style clip on the turntable?

The machine looks to me as an export HMV 97 with an added auto stop mechanism and a HMV 101 style record holder. Or am I saying strange things now :?

As I never had any interest in the Columbia machines I really don't know anything about them. And there's also not too much info about them on the net.

The machine btw has a wonderful sound and a nice auto brake system.
