Rockola 440 Owners - Service/Parts Manual?

by VA Bigdog » Thu Mar 20, 2014 2:57 pm

Can anyone tell me if there is a parts manual available specifically for the 440?

For those unfamiliar with this model, the 440 service manual is an addendum to the 437 service manual. The manual I have purchased is basically a 437 manual with the appropriate pages replaced with the 440 addendum. There is a separate full parts manual for the 437 available, but I suspect that it will not list any of the parts that changed the following year on the 440. I cannot locate a parts addendum or manual that is specific to the 440. I'm trying to locate a couple of cabinet parts that I know changed between models, so a part number list would be very helpful.

What I did notice is that the 440 manual available at VictoryGlass states that it is 116 pages. The manual I purchased elsewhere is only 66 pages, but that seems to be the normal size for every other seller. My big question is this - does anyone have the larger manual and does it include the complete parts list? I just don't want to spend another $40 to get the same thing I already have. Any info is appreciated.

Thanks!
Nelson

Nelson: I got mine from Always Jukin. It is 63 pages including fold outs. It says service and parts on the cover but I was disappointed that it did not include the parts book. I will say that it is the highest quality juke manual I own and it includes wiring diagrams. But no parts. If you find what you are looking for let us all know.

Hi All,

it is right, the 437 manual is the basic for a 440 manual - but both for service manual and parts list.
Rock-Ola published only extra (blue coloured) pages for 440 which should be added / replace some 437 papers.
So all together a complete manual should offer more than 64 pages.

The large wiring diagram - not the fold-out sequences of operation in the service manual - was in particuliar for model 440 only.

I add the overview of what pages should be replaced.

Thanks Hildegard!

What I have must be the complete Service manual for the 440, with the HUGE wiring diagram. As Patrick stated, this is usually sold as a Service AND Parts manual.

I've never seen the first page you posted but I have the other one in my service manual. Rockola did the same thing for the parts and created a 440 addendum for the 437 parts manual. This clears up and confirms what I thought, the 437 parts manual will be close, but I'll need those changed pages to have a full 440 parts manual.

Since the Victory Glass manual is almost twice the size of everyone else and sold as the 440 service and parts, they're probably the only people that are selling the real deal, in full. I'll take Ron's advice and give them a call to confirm.

Thanks again,
Nelson

Hi Nelson,

I don't know Victory Glass 440 manual. But service and parts should be about 120 pages. When I do a 440 service manual for a customer, I replace those 437 pages by 440 pages which are needed. So the customer does not get a page twice. This calculates up to ca. 120 pages.

Do you already have a 437 parts manual? In that case I can help with the needed 440 pages. I could scan them and send as a pdf file. They will come out kind of greyish maybe as the paper is blue.

If you don't have the437 manual already, then these pages only might not be helpful enough.

Thanks for the offer Hildegard. Unfortunately I do not have the parts manual for the 437 either.

I guess I'm stuck having to get the 440 manuals that indicate they are over 100 pages in order to get the parts section. I haven't found the parts separately, so I'm getting forced into re-purchasing the service portion as well.

The manuals are almost as difficult to figure out as the products they cover. I also have a Rowe R-90 and I discovered the computer boards are covered in a "shop" manual that is different than the normal service and parts manual. If I want to troubleshoot the boards, I need to find that one now.
Good Grief! :?
