A few years ago I was working at a church garage sale and they had a beautiful Magnavox Astro-Sonic record player for sale. I instantly fell in love with it, and bought it knowing there was no needle with it. I've on-and-off done research on it trying to find a working needle for it, but have had no luck. I can't find any serial information on it, or anything that has been even mildly promising. The only information I've found out about it is that I believe it's the Montauban Astro-Sonic 100 model because of a vintage ad that I found digging through this websites archives (viewtopic.php?f=1&t=3334&start=30). I also found on the back of it the number 641324 4 engraved in it, and the codes AIMCD 1 1930-01 under the tonearm (which I believe is original based off it's style and the Magnavox brand M on the top of it). The only other piece of possible information I've found is an old needle box that was empty in the record player when I got it that was a Transcriber #111 Diamond Replacement Needle for Astatic Needle N-72 Astatic Cartridge NO. 349D. I would appreciate any possible help this community would be able to supply me with. I've bought a few various replacement needles that haven't worked, and I'm fed up with a non-working record player eating up space in my room. Thanks again for any help you could give me.
