Talk-O-Phone Gaskets

by Like Old Machines » Fri Jun 20, 2008 5:41 am

Hi,

Does anyone know a source for the round thin flat gasket o-rings for the Talk-O-Phone reproducer?

Also, does anyone know if a gentleman named Paul Ladd is still around? He sold me some needles about 15 years ago, they were a dull grey finish and they were nice, they sounded so good. I think they were a few dollars a pack and would like some more.

Also, does anyone know if the New Amberola Graphic is still being printed, I loved that magazine.

The New Amberola Graphic stopped publication a number of years ago. I remember that I had just renewed my subscription, and had about seven issues still to go when this happened. I understand that Martin F. Bryan, the publisher, still sells Bry-O-Phonic needles -- soft, medium and loud tone -- for about half the price of what others are now charging. Unfortunately, I no longer have his email address, and can't find it on google.

For the gaskets, a number of parts suppliers are listed on this site -- http://www.proaxis.com/~settlet/record/links.html -- scroll down towards the bottom to the Accessories/Restoration section. If you can't find any that are flat enough, you may have to opt for some other type and cut it to fit. Hopefully, this won't be an issue.

Paul Ladd, which I found by doing a google searh for --

"Paul Ladd" Victrola

is listed on this page -- http://www.michiganantiquephonographsoc ... ber.html#L -- Don't know if the address or phone number is still correct, though.
