Can you bypass the pricing unit on a Seeburg SS 160

by DrummerErock » Sun Oct 12, 2014 9:18 pm

Hey again,

Well I got my Seeburg working and it works great but the Pricing Unit bit the dust. The Quarter Soleniod somewhat melted and the and broke apart. So I have a few question. This a a universal dual pricing unit. The first question is is there a way to bypass it completely so you don't have to put money in it at all and can just select records without its ever running out of credits. Possibly using that method temporarily until I get another pricing unit. Secondly what would be the best place to look for a Universal Dual Pricing unit Type UDPU5? as Im not seeing that model anywhere on ebay. Thanks

Eric

I see an UDPU4 on ebay, would that work or does it have to be the exact model

Quick answer--yes--real answer-- I would not set it on free play without an electronic replacement credit unit ( which, just so happens, I sell   --PM me if you wish to purchase it--)and BTW--the only reason that quarter coil is "fried" is some "Yo-Yo" installed an oversize fuse in the UDPU-5. NO the -4 is not directly interchangeable. Ron Rich
