Hello, I have a Seeburg 147 trashcan jukebox at my home that needs repaired, first off when plugged in everything lights up, all the tubes and all lights, now it seems to be pretty free moving as most of the mech looks like it has been kept oiled and clean, now I need to find out how to give it a credit to see if it will make the selection, does anyone know how to either put it on freeplay or manually give it a credit??. Also does anyone have any photos of the amp and receiver so I can compare it with the ones that are in the box, they appear to be the original ones that came with the box.

There is no way to put it on "free play" without doing some mods. Why don't you just drop a coin in it--the window up top tells you the number of plays left to select--there is also a "Test" credit button at the very bottom of the coin drop--it is very small and may be partly hidden by a metal "clamp". There are several combinations of units that can be "original" to that phono. You will need a copy of the Service Manual, and the original ID tag off the rear of the machine, to sort that out--photos are provided. Ron Rich

Ron: Thank you for your answer on this 147 box, now the window at the top of the box shows 11 selections remaining, now when you make a selection it sounds like it takes the selection but nothing happens as far as picking out a selection, appears to have everything hooked up but seems to not pick out the selection, maybe you have an answer on this, I have worked with a few of these and this one is by far in a lot better shape than any of the other ones I have worked on but all seem to have different problems.

Do you have the service manual--it's been 25-30 years since I have worked on any--Got to be in the "pin bank" unit on the cabinet floor?? Ron Rich
