I agree, but everyone I have contacted that advertises that they fix amps suddenly remembers they don't fix the 556 Whurlys. I have been told by many that the mechanism in the 3700 is craptacular and the 556 amp is worse yet.. In spite of this, I do like the 70's retro style, and for the light duty use it will get in my basement it should be fine...if I can get a amp working.
I temporarily hooked up the RCA plugs from the turntable to an external stereo that my kid actually pulled out of the trash. It works but without using the internal speakers and only using a couple small external units the sound leaves much to be desired.
