Mills Empress

Hi all,

I am looking at a Mills Empress locally. It is not restored and has been in storage for years. It is all there, the plastic looks ok except for the selection number/letter plastic. The case has one about 6 square inch bad spot on the veneer. The unit needs to be taken all apart and the case completely restored.

The owner wants $1500 for it. I think that is too high as good ones with working mechanicals and rebuilt amps have been selling for $4K to $6K in the last year.

Since refurbishing a case, plating, rebuilding everything would end up costing at least $5K including my time...I am thinking anything more than about $750 is not a good deal.

Prices on these type of jukeboxes are in free fall...

What do folks think a fair price is for a core like this?
