R83 amplifier issue

Hello,

I have an R83 that was working well. I just turned it on recently for the first time in a couple months and it is very loud and turning the volume knob doesn't allow me to alter the volume. Anyone have a place to start to try and fix this problem? Or does anyone know a repair person in the states? Thanks, Andrew

Are you using a "remote" volume control--if so, it's either open or grounded--I can't remember which does what--
