Help needed with Seeburg Apollo LS3

by bromma » Tue Jan 15, 2008 1:43 pm

I own a Seeburg Apollo LS3 manufactured 1969-1970. This jukebox includes the black and grey boxes that was new at that time.

The problem is that there is something wrong under the number pad or beyond that point. When I press the digit "1" the jukebox returns "error" and "reset". I have searched the led structure on the card under the digit panel but I have not found any breaks or damages.

My hope is now that this is a simple error but I am no technician. What can it bee?

Hope for some answers,

Anders Bromander, Sweden. :D

This occurs when the main trigger oneshot in the black box fires (from the main trigger switch on the side of the selector) with not data oneshot output. Digit 1 is data C, so check for continuity from the black box upper connector pin 5, through the switch with digit 1 depressed to pin 3 of the same connector. Do this with the power off, and with the black box disconnected, otherwise you will damage the circuitry. If you get continuity, the problem is probably in the data C oneshot inside the black box. If you do not get continuity (assuming your selector is a DES1) reverse the ohmmeter leads and try again. If you still do not get continuity, find out why. It's probably a dirty contact on the DES rear board or the DES itself. Be careful if dis-assembling the DES. There are lots of springs in there.

Hello: If this will help you any I have one of these jukeboxes the Seeburg LS3 Apollo that I am parting out. I have the complete front top door with the selector buttons and the plugs that go to that assembly, if you are interested in any of this, like the keypad or what goes behind it I can help you out if that is your problem, just let me know before I list these items on Ebay.
