Seeburg M100C 15" speaker resistance values

by steve_b10 » Tue Oct 16, 2012 2:59 pm

Ron,
Can you please provide me with the "C" voice coil and field coil resistance values for the 15" speaker, and also tell me which speaker wire color pairs test each coil. I see a blue, yellow and white, plus a black "jumper" at the plug (colors may be off a bit due to age).
Thanks,
Steve

Steve,
That's in the Service Manual, on the amp schematic age--just from memory, 8 ohm/5200 ohm--only three wires--one common, other two to each coil---check me-- Ron Rich

Hi Ron,
Yes, that information was in the service manual where you indicated. I missed it. The values stated for the speaker in a MRA3-L6 are 8 ohms voice coil, 5600 ohms (hot) field coil. Could you please tell me the proper way to determine the hot field coil resistance. Does "hot" literally mean that the speaker is plugged in and warmed up? What would a resistance reading be if the speaker coil was not "hot" (room temp)?
Thank you, Steve
