Help Identifying a Magnavox Stereo

Hi everyone. I turned up this site on a Google search looking like it had allot of info about Magnavox "console" stereos. I hope this is the proper place to ask questions like this, since I saw no other real place to put it.
My predicament is, the model number on it's tag is illegible but I have the serial number. I even have the manuals which are in perfect condition, but they reveal no model number information. I can do my best to describe what I have, and ultimately I'm seeking the model number to track down possible repair and/or replacement parts for it, I think.
All my mother could do was date it in the early to mid 1970's, since it was hers and was purchased right around the time I was born. It's a Magnavox, I guess you'd call it a console stereo. We've always referred to it as the blanket chest stereo though. It literally looks like it's in a blanket chest, with a single large hinged lid on top. It's cabinet is a dark wood finish with some decorative colored circular patterns on the front, a false keyhole impression near the top front-side, and the numerals "17 76" in black (I suppose in reference to the year 1776). It has left and right speakers both high/low range located on either side (I peeked inside for model info, none found). Inside the top of the cabinet after opening it's "lid" reveals on the left, a storage compartment/well, in the center-top an 8-track player (which works great still), center-bottom it's AM/FM radio/controls, and the right side has what I think is considered a fully automatic turntable. Hence my problem part.
The turntable is functional, however will no longer operate in auto. Unfortunately upon opening the rear of the cabinet I found a white nylon gear laying in the bottom of the cabinet.
This does appear to "drive" the automatic part of the turntable with trying to take it's selector to "Auto" and it no longer will drop the record, and start playing it like I remember when I was little.
Any information would be a huge help, I can even snap off some good pictures and maybe put them up somewhere for people to see as I'm sure I would hope it would be of great help, just might be a couple of days.
I'd really like to get it repaired or maybe even replace the turntable if they are to be found.
Thanks
