Seeburg L100 Mechanism

by anvil62 » Thu Feb 11, 2016 4:56 pm

Hello everyone!

I'm a newbie who just acquired a Seeburg L100. I've been looking for all the information I can find, but there is one particular problem that I don't see, even in the troubleshooting manual. When it turns on, it starts spinning and the arm moves, like it's playing a record, but no record is there. I pressed a selection, and both buttons popped back out and no more selections could be pressed. When I pressed eject on the back, the mechanism scanned twice and stopped. It could not be pressed again.

Any hints on what direction I should start would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Bob

Hi Bob.
The L mechanism is basically the same as all Seeburg mechanisms (mech) were for over 40 years. From what you have written, it appears to me that you do not understand what it should do, therefore you can't explain what it is doing well enough for us to understand, and help you.
It's my humble suggestion that you purchase, and read, a copy of my "Seeburg Mechanism Guide" which was written with the intent of Supplementing the manual, and helping all, understand exactly what, when, things should happen in regards to the mech. You can glean most, but not all of that info, by careful reading of the Seeburg produced Service manuals, but remember, they were written for the "pro" and usually did not reflect any "repair persons real time experience". Should you wish to purchase it, please PM me-- Ron Rich
