It is very similar to, but not the same as a 1942 Model JM-7, which you can view here-

I would say your was available in the same year as a slightly more expensive machine due the the larger cabinet size, or it was released within a year or 2 of the JM-7. I should imagine both internal mechanisms are exactly the same.
Judging by other GE models, they seem to have ran each particular style of phono-recorder in a block of numbers, so yours may be something like a JM-6, JM-8 or JM-9 etc. I haven't had a chance yet, but I might do a google search for these later & see if anything shows up.
