Hi

Is there any advantage in which color, yellow or orange electronics that one would seek out and if so why?

When antique apparatus purchased Rockola, they stopped using Rowe internals and debuted the Black Amp, shortly after that, they came out with the Red system, they them came out with the orange system. Up to this point all these systems were analog systems. The next system they came out with was the yellow system and it was digital. I have had all 4 of these versions multiple times over and if I had a choice, and I was comparing a jukebox to a jukebox with no external speakers involved, I would have say that the Orange analog system is my favorite because it has a more complete and wider range of output than the digital yellow component system.

Thank you for your imput. I have a Rockola Legend 7000 with the red system and it has been very reliable. Is the yellow digital system a reliable system or are there problems I should be made aware of?

Hi Darrell,

To be honest, I have found that all of these setups have always been extremely reliable. As the systems get newer, they offer a little more watts but the playing features of the computer and the sound quality are all very good. Parts are still readily available as well as servicing of your Amp, Control Computer and Power Supply thru Antique Apparatus / Rockola in Torrence California as well as many 3rd party distributors that are on the lists that advertise in this forum. If any of these systems suffer from any chronic issues, maybe someone else can chime in here as I am aware of none.

Oh... There is One thing I have noticed with the yellow digital system that bugs me.... It happens when using the full feature remote control, sometimes, not all the time, when bringing up the volume or bringing it down, the digital display shows fragmented incremental lines instead of the full fat bars.... I have brought this to Jorge Rivera's attention at Rockola and he said that that's a problem with the digital systems sometimes as the computer receives an incorrect signal. He said as long as the volume reacts to your button pushing, volume up or down, then there is nothing to worry about.
