The Ami Continental 2 I recently bought seems to have a title board that looks to be tilted too far forward, it seems like it should lay back more

Has anyone seen this before?
What is the safest way to tilt it back in the correct position?

Thanks Gregg

Hi again, Gregg,
It "looks OK" to me--they did "lean in" to surround the"bubble". One thing I do know about them, is, that neck will snap, if pushed on, to hard!!

These look they are tilting upward while mine faces straight out , Also there is nowhere to find a picture of a continental with full side angle(they look better from other angles)

or maybe an optical illusion

The picture of the lower one look VERY wrong tilting up like that - also note the wrong grill used so I would say been restored and had a neck repair done that has caused it to tilt up so high.....

Now wait for the person who is in the picture to come back at me for being horrible about his pride and joy

These machines look different at different angles and given what mm the taking lens on the camera.

There is NO way to bend the supporting neck without breaking it and if the four screws are in all the way -that is "it".

I had both a Continental 1 and 2.

Here is a shot of my One when delivered to my antique dealer in Nov 2000:

Take a look at these shots:

The raked top shelf creates a forced perspective that makes the "radar screen' look different from different angles.

These machines did suffer from a bit of instability and were prone to falling backward especially if the rear doors were open and some fat operator used them to boost himself up after working on the unit. Yes, I did meet such a person....A Gepetto :-)

The title board lighting arrangement was among the stupidest I'd ever seen in a commercial product. As designed, it was inevitable that the wires would break off the sockets and contact the casing creating a PITA and shock hazard.

Guy's
I still think this is correct--like Rob said--unless the neck was repaired, there are four screws, ( which, BTW, the shipping instructions say to remove, along with the title board, anytime you transport the phono,), and four threaded holes. There are no possible adjustments for it--- Ron Rich
