Your right Ron the solenoid is shorted. I could not find a rating on the c/b. Here is what is on the side of it , Mel Rain Corp 135 187 and other side is a U S pat #

Thanks. Most, but not all "Mel Rain" CB's, I have seen are rubber stamped with the value somewhere on them. I would install a fuse clip and start with a 3 amp fuse--after, installing a new solenoid--and go up from there--Ron Rich
