Flourescent Tubes

So I broke off one of the pins on the end of a flourescent tube the other day.
(On my Rockola 494). No problem, I'm thinking. Just head down to the local Home Depot and pick
up another. I need a tube that's 32" long. Of course Home Depot only has 24", 36" and 48" tubes.
Any leads on a 32" tube would be appreciated.

Hi bigdogblues,

I guess you are measuring from the caps not from the ends of the pins. More than likely your tube will be 33 inch.
If you do not want to risk delivery from a jukebox supplier then order one from your local Electrical Wholesaler.

Yeh that's a 33 inch tube. Most hardware stores don't carry those sizes any more. A lighting store/dealer will.

Thanks guys. Yes, I was measuring just the tube, not including the pins.
I'll get out the yellow pages today, and see what I can find.

All,
33 inch tubes are "odd". They are made in two "thicknesses", and in the thin size, at least, different "wattages".
The "Fat" T-12 size I have only seen in 25 watt, I think. But the "thin" T-8 size, I have seen in 17-18-19-22, and 25 watt versions. When buying a new one, be SURE to buy a new starter (the type "with condenser" only), that is correct for THAT lamp ! BTW--the T-12 can be replaced with a T-8, but the T-8 should not ( in most cases--check markings on ballast) be replaced with a T-12. Ron Rich

According to the Victory Glass catalog, that should use a 25 watt T-12, 33" long fluorescent bulb.
