Weird, but I hadn't touched the machine in a few weeks, then decided to turn it back on the other day. The sound was back and we played it for a good 2 hours. Turned it back on the next day, problem had returned (no sound, just a slight thud sound when song starts). The day it decided to work, It was a warmer day than we had had in weeks, so I don't know if this issue is temperature driven or what. The machine is in our family room in the basement and it does tend to get a little cooler down there than the upstairs, but is heated to above 65 degrees. It almost has to be a short of some kind in the connector cables. I'll try re-seating all of the cables (I've done this already) and see if it's a connection issue. God, these machines are tempermental !!
Ron, the Carnegie was Wurlitzer's first CD jukebox from around 1989. There's one for sale right now on eBay for a $600 starting price. I paid $250 for mine.
