Eugene,
Is the new unit marked for the type of pricing unit it replaces? It should be for one type or the other--if your "S-D" jumper, on the stepper, is incorrect, it will cause the no scan/select symptom you are having-- You may also need to set the jumpers, on "that small board", in the TES to that unit-- Ron Rich

its an a-1 part78-022 from jukeboxusa ay100 and y100 are listed. I set the 3 wires on the pricing unit circuit board. mine were incorrect even for what was in the machine. On the s-d jumper thats on the back side of the stepper correct? haven't checked that but saw it on the schematic. So that will be the next thing I check. I was doing some of the troubleshooters even tho they were for the ay units but my pages stop at 50864 page 316 . have to start making a list of tubes I'm missing do you sell those by chance?

Jumpers on the TES--Set them as per the sheet on the cover, or in the manual --for whichever type of "free play" unit you purchased--

I did that when I installed the unit. No luck so far. credit light lite, latch engages unit doesn't move, counter doesn't change buttons then pop back up.

Eugine,
If you are sure the TES is correctly set--then check out the "start-hold switches" in the TES--

Eugine,
Which jumpers in which "pricing unit" ? I thought you were using a replacement unit ?
The jumpers/switches I am speaking of are in the TES Ron Rich

Sorry my thought process is abnormal. my TES is a tes106 the jumpers I changed on it are on the pricing unit board mounted on the tes. the S and D jumpers. couldn't find any others in the service manual.

Eugine,
On the "new pricing unit", it should state which model it is for --"S" in the JUKEBOX model # indicates that the phono originally had, and was set for a "Single Price", type unit. A "D" in that number indicates it was set for a "Dual Price" type unit. The jumpers in the TES, and on the RCSU must be set "the same", and that would be dictated by the type of "new-electronic" unit you have installed.
If your new unit is what I think it is--the fact that the buttons "lock down" for thirty or so seconds, indicates that you are not closing the start, and/or hold switches in the TES. That unit is designed to only hold the latch bar energized for 30 or so seconds, to prevent the solenoid from burning up-- You should be able to push ONE button, and it should pop back up after it times out-- this is the beauty, and normal for that unit. Eugine,
Upon further thought--I think I would proceed as follows:
First check that the start/hold switches were functioning, then check the "28" volt DC power supply ( some books say 22 volts is "minimum", but I have never seen one function with less then 25 vdc). If I did not find a problem there--I would re-install the original pricing unit, with the cover off, after advancing the credit wheel, and observe exactly what is, or is not happening-- Ron Rich

The switches seem to be operating have 1.7 volts across the left side switch, have to pull the selector board to double check fat fingers. still have to check the right side. Is it ok to check transformer voltage at the distribution board? Got 27.9 dc there. Also since I was at it installed the old pricing system , with that hooked up and no solenoid movement from the cau or the latch.

Sorry---A voltage meter does not check the operation of the switches---I think it's time you "bite the bullet" and call a "pro"

Oh I did call the only one I could find lol. Said it would be a month before he could come out. I just checked the swtch when the letter button was up and when I pressed it. Still planing to pull the whole thing out so I can check mechanical operation. My neck doesn't bend like it used to.
