Rexonola info/parts..?

I have just bought a 'Rexoport' portable rexonola gramophone that is missing a few parts. I am in need of a governor spring and weight. The motor is branded 'Rexonola', I had expected to find a generic thorens numbered motor.
Does anyone know what motor parts/springs are compatible?
Does anyone have any rexonola parts?
Does anyone have any rexonola information other than the rexonola homepage at http://members.ozemail.com.au/~mikechap/

As far as the turn-table, there are many ways they are held on. I don't know about Rexonolas, but check underneath for a set screw in the spindle before you force it. Look under the edge with a flashlight. There could be a clip under the felt/velour, it could be threaded or it could be just friction. But check for that set screw.

I just had a look at the Rexonola site you gave the link to. The portable pictured with the velour covered turntable looked like it may have a ring to hold the platter in place. The others don't appear to have that ring. There is the possiblity that it's just held on by friction. I have two Brunswick portables and that's all that hold the turn-table on. Does or did your Rexoport have a record storage compartment that would rest right on the turn-table when the lid was closed?

If after checking for a cotter pin or set screw underneath and finding no clip on top or a slot cut in the top of the spindle. Place a few drops of "Liquid Wrench" or similar product on the sides of the spindle (Pulling the covering clear), let in work it's way in. Try an even pressure from two sides of the platter. Try just the SLIGHTEST rocking-more like a wiggle and it may pop right up.

Thanks guys. Turned out it was the friction type. A tap with a hammer in the spindle and off it came.
I am struggling to find parts though, I need...

- governor spring and weight (maybe all three so they match)
- needle cup (metal, alloy I think)

Anyone able to help?

I'm in the same boat with my latest Brunswick, one of the governor springs broke. It's always a good idea to replace all the springs at the same time. In my case the weights are riveted on the spring steel gotta replace the whole piece.

I'll post pictures and a description later this evening.

Hi. I just noticed this thread. I've got quite a few different rexonola motors- or parts of! They used a few different motors, so I'd have to either see a pic of your motor, or find out the length of the govenor weight strips to check against mine. I dont have a needle cup anymore, but they are basically the same as any other needle cup of pressed steel. I do have the needle cup cover too if you are after one of those as well. It's a teardrop shape, that is held by a screw and slides over the top of the cup, and has an R on it.
