Tony,
Are the "index" (at every space) and "home" (at space "99") LEDs blinking ?

Tony,
Well, you have found the problem--It must light, every time record space 99 passes it--
1st try re-seating the opto plug--if that does not work, you will need to remove the opto, and use a soft brush on it--it should light the LED when held out in the air--if not, either it is bad, or the MCC has failed. If it lights, check the "hole in the gear wheel"--clean it with a soft brush--re adjust the opto as per the service manual, and you should be back in service--- Ron Rich

Tony,
No--sorry, that's well covered in the service manual, and I do not have the time to re-type the whole thing over--

By "flashing permanently" I am assuming it flashes once per record space--if this is correct, that's what it should do.
Try the following--I have never been successful at this, but others have told me it works:
Find a friend--as you will need an extra hand--have the friend unplug the phono from the wall outlet.
Put the service switch in the service position. Hold all three switches on the computer down ( you will need something sharp to reach the "memory reset" switch through the little hole). Have your friend plug the phono back in while you are holding the switches. This should (so I'm told) default the computer--

My guess would be a defective CCC--you may PM me if you wish to have it re-built, using a new style MPU--
