Motorola sk-16w sound problem

I have a Motorola( SK-16W) radio/record changer, 2 piece console unit. The 2nd piece is a stand alone speaker. I am having problems with getting sound to the right speakers located in the console unit itself. The stand alone speaker is receiving and playing sound just fine. I will try to describe what I have found so far.

I have tested and know the console speakers work because I switched the

Check the pickup cartridge.

Check the electronics before the plugs.

Check the muting switch (if it exists).
