Sonora Decals

by tjet25 » Tue Mar 08, 2011 2:22 pm

Hello all,
This is my first post. Last year I found a Sonora Phonograph and was able to talk the seller down to $60. The whole thing was painted brown. Naturally I had to strip it down to bring it back to life. As hard as I tried to avoid it, I had to strip the underside of the lid. This contained the infamous Sonora decal. So the decal is now missing. I made a decal off of my computer using paintworks but I can't obtain the gold colors required. Does anyone know where to obtain the Sonora Decal with the globes and all not just the word Sonora? Thank you, and yes, I'm glad to be here.

Hi Tony,
I just noticed on another forum that a new phonograph decal supplier has started up, and they have the Sonora decal you need on your phonograph.
They are priced at $25, but they appear to be a good quality reproduction, and being the only supplier of this particular decal I guess if you need one it's your only choice. Personally I think $25 is money well spent if it puts your phonograph back to how it should be.

If you go ahead & buy one, perhaps you could report back to here about what you think of it as far as accuracy of size & colour etc.
Good luck!
