by cobalt » Sun Apr 29, 2007 10:57 am

Hi thanks for looking
can anyone tell me how to adjust the weight on the tone arm IE if i put a small coin say 1p on the arm just above the cartridge the juke plays fine but if i remove it the arm just sort of floats above the record not quite touching it. cheers

Assuming you're working on an 1100 or1200 mech,If you look at the base end, left side of the tone arm, you'll see a lever which lifts the tone arm as it moves to and from the record. With the tone arm in play position in a groove, see if the lever is slightly free of the tone arm. If not, you can use a tone arm adjusting tool (eg: pliers) to bend the lever slightly down. Be sure to check that the needle clears the transfer arm when moving towards and away from the record.
