Help with the CCC from an R93

by jbk » Fri Aug 23, 2013 5:59 pm

I have an R93 with a misbehaving 40777010 CCC. The juke is working in every other way, as tested with a working CCC. The problem is the CCC won't control the Mech as commanded. This means it will control and play for the timed/ auto play selection just not the imputed selection. The on board battery has correct voltage and the CCC gives me no error codes. It accepts selections and credits, just won't play. I am not versed in repairing these boards and hope that this is something that someone can point me in the correct direction. I have reflowed all the pins, pulled and cleaned the eprom and eliminated cold solder joints. I can see nothing visibly wrong with the board (no burns, lifted traces, corrosion, ect.). This CCC behaves the same in every working juke that I tried it in.

As far as I can see, you have done all that is possible. The symptoms, you describe, indicate to me, that the memory chip is defective. The only suggestion I have is, if the main chip in a socket, you might try re-seating it, or changing the socket. If soldered in, I'm 99% sure the chip is bad. Ron Rich

I have reseated the only socketed eprom. It acts like a logic issue so I guess I start chasing the problem. Better yet is there anyone reliable and reasonable to repair this board?

I was brought to my attention, that you may only need to "dump" the memory--Give it a try first-- Ron Rich

See error codes "0", and "1" in your service manual--do exactly what it says was done (in parentheses).
Then do as error 1 states. You will either need three hands to do this, or, you must remove the cover from the CCC to do it--least I do---Ron Rich

Hello jbk,

I concur with Ron that you need to set the CCC back to the factory settings.
