rock-ola jukebox 474 selector issues

I have had the machine two years. Previously the selectors worked. After adding credits, you had to wait 5-10min to be able to select the first song but no problems after that. We moved and now the selections will not register. The rest of the machine works fine. I have not work on the machine but am in need of assistance on how to remedy the problem. When I opened up the selector, I did notice that behind the lights the first fuse was black and hot to the touch. If anyone can give me suggestions, I would be thankful.

Are you referring to the Selection Control Assembly (silver box with 2 edge connector on pcb and 2 Molex connectors to case) or the actual Pushbutton Selection Assembly? I would assume you are referring to the Selection Control, but specificity is important.

I can give you one "hint"--ANYTIME a fuse is "hot to the touch" there IS a problem --most likely a fire, somewhere within the whole machine, looking for a place to start !
Check the value of that fuse--make sure it is the correct size and type ! If it's still getting hot, check that the "fuse holder" is clean and tight on that fuse.

The red push buttons that do the song selections do not work; they are housed in a hinged casing.

I have had the jukebox off since discovering the overheated part. The piece that is overheating is behind a bulb that is part of the selection display.

Hi Nick,
You are too vague in your descriptions for me to follow--some parts are designed to run warm, if not hot. You will need to at least, get out the books, and find out what the correct part names are for me to have any understandings to what you should do next. Ron Rich
