100B won't select ,keypad inop

Well sick of fooling with the Q100 I decided to mess with my B instead.

It's been sitting mostly idle for the last few years, plugged in occasionally to keep it lubed, however now I can't select a record from the Keypad.

The "Select" light is lit, everything is plugged in, Credit button inside doesn't do anything, manually flipping the Credit tabs does nothing.
If I select a record manually by flipping the pin in the Pinbank it works fine.

Despite the "Select" light being lit I don't hear the latch solenoid humming, maybe it finally burned out, I never recapped the selector section (the thing next to the Amplifier), maybe it's time to do that?

Eric,
The "Y" contacts on the timing relay are not making (good) contact--
If the solenoid "burns up" you will smell it (unless you are like me with no sense of smell), or see it !

Hi Ron, figured it out partially.
The wheel in the Credit Unit was gummed up and it was keeping the Solenoid in the retracted position, as soon as I moved it back the Keypad started working.
I sprayed it with some Deoxit to free it up and now the keys work, it writes in the selection but now it just scans back and forth, guess maybe I got some Deox where it shouldn't be, maybe when it dries out it'll work right.

It's in a cramped, awkward place to be working on it, I guess it's time to just pull that chassis and do a thorough cleaning and recapping.
The Amp was done about 10 years ago but this chassis is all original.

Eric,
That makes sense--if the wheel/coil plunger, does not return to " home" position, it keeps the relay energized, thus cutting off the power to the latchbar---
As for it finding the selection--that's a whole new ball of wax, not related to the CCU, or WSR--( Not sayin you should not re-cap it, however !)
It would be either the "W" contacts, reversing switch contacts or the contacts/wires in the contact block under the SA unit. Ron Rich
