Seeburg SCD-1 CD

by ds100h » Thu Jul 03, 2014 5:54 am

I have the opportunity to pick up Seeburg 6 SCD-1 CD jukeboxes. I am not familar with these units. Will someone (Ron?) tell me their weak points as well as their strong points?

Thank you for your input.

Best
Darrell

Darrell,
MY opinion---
Strong points ?--they have a SONY built player in them--weak points ? They have a SONY built changer in them, which is no longer ""supported" by SONY. NONE of the "engineering" was done by "Seeburg employees"--the "company" that produced them was only "Seeburg" in name( because they were supposed to pay to use it--but, as far as I know, never did !), and was very short of $$$ when these were made. There is NO support/spare parts, anywhere, I know of for these-- IMHO, you could not pay me to take them  ! (OK--Pay me enough, and I'd take them--straight to the dumps!) Ron Rich
