Hi Ron:

I'm still puzzling over why the clutch won't drop into scan. I was looking at the "safety plunger" and I noticed that it looks like there is a broken white plastic piece (see photo), labelled "plunger stop" in my manual but the part illustration is obscured. Do I have a broken "plunger stop"?

The clutch is prevented from falling into scan, if the scan motor is not running the correct way--try changing motor direction--
Has the clutch member been properly, oiled ? Ron Rich

Still don't have the clutch issue figgered out, but the plunger is keeping the record transfer cycling occasionally--please advise, do I need a Safety Plunger repair to prevent this? It LOOKS like broken plastic....

Sorry, but I can not recall what that white plastic is doing there--I don't think it has much of anything to do with the function of the safety plunger--have you properly oiled the plunger assembly ?? If the plunger fails to clear the dog-link path fast enough, it will stop the clutch from falling into the scan notch--that's EGG-ZACTLY what it was designed to do ( if, for some reason a record blocked the plunger's path).

Hi Ron: Just FYI--yep, the safety plunger slug was on the wrong side of the shift lever. I had looked at that first thing, but didn't realize the proper configuration. Now it does a full scan when a selection is dialed in, but it doesn't stop and transfer--i'll figger it out!
