Philco 53-1350 Antenna issues..

by tmp58 » Wed May 15, 2013 11:12 pm

Hello everyone. I am working on on 1953 Philco unit that has some antenna issues. There's no break in the loop antenna front or back. The copper wiring came apart from the loop antenna while I kept jockeying the chassis for other problems. They sure made these so difficult and crowded to work on. Yes, the tubes are fine and really not the source of problem with meter readings on those. I burned off the installations off the stand of the each copper wiring both ends. Anyway, the set does receive stations, however I have one end of the loop wire wire at tuning capacitor and the other end underneath the the chassis of the BC coil to receives stations. Now I know this can't be right since Ive tried clip hooking those copper wires elsewhere but no such luck. I even use another dummy antenna and does the same thing. Does anyone know what I could possible be doing wrong? Thanks for your help.
