Collaro Changer Cartridge help

by gareee » Fri Feb 19, 2010 12:09 am

Can someone identify this cartridge so I can order a new one. It is out of an 60's Magnavox/collaro changer with the cobra looking headshell.
The only numbers on top of the cartridge is : 635695-2.
On the white plastic part it says Sonotone.
For the life of me I was searching for this ****** all night
Dont mind the piece of toothpick holding the needle down. That's why I need to replace the cartridge.
If you flip that LP lever over you have the 78 needle.
The cartridge is held by 2 screws from the top of the tonearm.

That stylus assembly is badly misshapen. Replacing it may cure your problem, otherwise you will have to modify some other cartridge to fit, as i strongly doubt that you will be able to find the exact replacement. The Stylus is quit common, being a Sonotone N2t-sd , replaced by Astatic N674sd or Pfanstiehl 800ds77. The Pfanstiehl has 2 LP tips and none for 78
