I'm installing a 5 ft. low rpm turntable into my phono display riser. Walnut laminated flooring for it's deck, a green or burgundy carpeted turntable for about 5 changers,a chrome post for a spindle with a smaller black carpeted platter on top for small items (phono ad pieces, needles, asstorted 45 adapters, etc). Two extendable lamps will be the tone and over arms
Underneath, I'll mount three or four heavy casters to support the weight of the changers and the table, maybe even add springs.
Now the motor.I'm thinking 1-3 rpm's is fast enough.Direct or chain drive??What type of motor should I look for?I found a large rotating cake display at a local bakery which may be for sale.Would such a motor suit this project?Lots of industry here in E.Texas, new motors can be found.I welcome any and all input.Catchy name, huh?
Good day.
