Safety plunger issue

by WhenPigsFly » Wed Mar 20, 2013 7:09 pm

I have a Seeburg Firestorm juke that continues to play the same record over and over. Searching these forums it appears the problem is the safety plunger. I can reach in a move it but it appears to be gummed up. I am afraid to pull the whole thing apart and was wondering is that the only way to get it "ungummed" Can I spray it with anything? If it does have to be disassembled can anyone give me a step by step guide on how to do this? It would be greatly appreciated.

Whenpigsfly, there might just be a Seeburg "Firestorm" model !! None such model yet exists --
Anyhow--that problem is typical of all Seeburg 45 rpm units--
All that's required, in most cases is the proper oil, and about 30 seconds to apply it to the plunger and all linkage associated with it. It also could well be an electrical problem,,especially if it has a DCC-2 Code A, installed.
