Seeburg M100C Record Not Clamping Properly, Both Record and Music Warble

by RYANMF » Wed Feb 10, 2016 9:48 pm

Good afternoon all,

I was hoping to find an answer in my manual so Ron wont have to tell me to RTFM, either I scanned over it or my copy is missing pages.

Recently when a selection is made after the record is put into position the clamp arm seems to make a poor contact resulting in both the record and music "wobbling" .

If someone could just nudge me in the right direction on where to begin troubleshooting I would really appreciate it.

Check/read page 2146 in your FM !!
All kidding aside--if this has "just started" and no one has "monkey-ed with it"-stretched the spring-, I would look at what's stuck in the small center hole--clean it with a Q-tip be sure the clamp arm is properly oiled --and you should be OK--
One other thought--check the TT thrust ball--if flat, or the thrust plate is worn, the same symptoms do occur. Ron Rich

Fine, fine, I will RTFM Ron,

Yes this just happened after Christmas, the C usually gets quite a but of play during the month since its loaded with holiday records. No one has monkeyed with it and this is the first time in five years of ownership it has happened. thanks for the advice!
