More Questions Rockola 1422 "O" amp

I have some more questions on my Rockola 1422 Model "O" amp.

1) Where is candohm in schematic? I cannot find where it is

2) I don't know where the two wires near the hole labeled "TH2" should go.
1 side was connected to 2 4K resistors (in parallel, to replace candohm), but where
is it on the schematic?

In my professional opinion, I would think R6 is the 2K high-wattage resistor in question.

That very well may be correct, the parts list for the amp only has 1 10W
resistor listed:
PH-3173 1K 10W

If that is the case, the part that was in there was 2K

Those Candohm resistors are nothing but trouble. They can intermittently short to ground. I suggest removing it completely and installing a terminal strip and 10 watt resistor instead.

Usually the Candohm is part of the power supply circuit.

I have removed the candohm from the circuit, just left it in the chassis with the 2K 10W resistor. It was open near one of the terminals. I made sure the resistor winding could not touch the terminals.

Another vote for the 1K 10W?

Which would be the correct value - 1K or 2K?

The hole i have marked as TH2 is the filter choke. RTFM. I was thinking it was all transformers under those metal cases.

This lends more credence to the candohm being the "1K" resistor, though not sure of the value yet.

Yeh it looks like a 1 K @ 10 watts should be the value of the Candohm resistor. If you completely remove the Candohm, the value of it should be rubber stamped on the back of it.

It looks like in your picture that you are using the Candohm as a tie point for the new resistor. I would not do that as the Candohms can intermittently short to ground and take out an expensive or irreplaceable power transformer.

I have completely removed the windings from the terminals of the candohm

cut, unwind a few turns, and superglue to keep remaining wire from unwinding.

I will pop it out and see if there is any stamping that can be read.

The candohm is definitely 2K,

It may be that it was replaced before, and someone grabbed a 2K instead of a 1K, either by mistake, or that's what they had.

I will make it 1K, and see how it sounds.
