I am assuming this has a Collero Changer. Probably the idler (no belt on this unit), is dried out. Remove the platter by removing the small retaining clip at the bottom of the spindle, and clean the small rubber wheel located on the left hand side with rubbing alcohol. Also clean the large rubber wheel and the inside rim of the platter. Do not soak these. Just use a cloth wet with alcohol.. NOTE: This is the "quick 'n dirty" method just to get things going. The best method is to clean and lube the changer, motor and platter bearings. Also, you may want to replace that stylus. A worn stylus can ruin a record in one play. There are sites dedicated to the Maggies with detailed how to's. I have a '50s Maggie and listen to it often. You won't be disapointed. These are great instruments. I hope Record Changer will expand on this. He knows Magnovox. Regards.
Vinyl is disease which attacks that area of the brain desiring digital recordings. Once you catch it, you are cured.
