A bad "paint job" on this one on the dome glass and the selection numbers. Why did they bother?

Here's an AMI R91. at a daft " buy it now" £2,500 that's almost $4,000.

Apparently it's "rare" (just like all the other items they have on offer) presumably because they only made an estimated 5000 of 'em.
But you do get a packet of spare bulbs with it and a "Manuel"
I've noticed a lot of these Spanish fellas come with jukeboxes.

They previously tried to sell it at a couple of weeks ago at a £2000 start price, but had no takers, so I guess that's why they've increased the "buy it now" price. Makes sense...not.

An obviously "even more rare" R90 (though the vendor didn't claim that, they only made 4,500) in similar condition, recently sold for £560, together with who I presume, was a different "Manuel."

Couple of things come to mind here--
Where in the world did the seller get a "new amplifier" ? Rowe has not made the correct amp, for that model, in at least 25 years---
Also, if it comes with "Manuel", why do you need two more people, to pick it up ? Have the wheels been removed, or does "Manuel" lay on top of it, making it difficult to roll ? I have "picked up" many a jukebox by myself, using a hand truck ("Barrel truck" --in the UK ?) Ron Rich

I think they'd call that "literary licence" or..lies.

Sack truck in the UK Ron, originally designed for...err..sacks.
Barrels were usually rolled on the docks.

I've a sack truck, I bought it for when I went to collect my Rock-Ola 443.

I rarely post anything in the Juke threads.
Mostly because Ron's the guru here for that.
Indeed I have done and will do repairs on jukes when they wind up in my shop, I don't turn good work down.
But.....
I have to say these bloated prices for jukes are simply rediculous - golddiggers in search of a buck.
Did these people get dropped on their heads and wind up dumb as a box of rocks?
Or do they think people will actually want to pay sky-high prices for these things?
I dunno.
Fleabay's the goddiggers heaven I guess.

Post away !! all voices are welcome--I wannna learn more , and can only do so if you "speak up" !
IMHO, I do not begrudge anyone a good profit on something they sell. I know when I purchase and rebuild ( or rebuild a customers) jukebox, I have LOTS of hours in it, and, in some cases, a lot of money tied up in parts. So, have to get "big money" for it, but I feel the value is there when I finish one. The stuff that I object to is the BS put out about what they are attempting to sell. (I don't know how many times I have seen "Elvis'" jukebox for sale -or something similar). Some of it MAY be that the seller honestly does not know, but I suspect most is just a lie--- Ron Rich

The classic is the "John Lennon KB Discomatic," originally sold at Christie's for £2,500 in 1989.
Each time the same model suitcase jukebox comes up on eBay, his name is dragged into the suitcase's description as "the John Lennon jukebox" and silly prices are asked for them.

Hang on, I think I've got a "George Washington Axe" in my shed, well it looks the same, I might try to sell that.

With only four hours left, the vendor has reduced the buy it now price to £2,000.
