Rowe Ami MM3

My jukebox was working fine, then no sound. I ordered a manual and the troubleshooting section says it might be one of three things.
1. a blown amplifier fuse (we took it out and even though it looks ok, I ordered a new one - which hasn't arrived yet)
2. a faulty mute relay (any idea where I can get one)? part # 200-13261
3. cartridge leads shorted or broken (they look ok)

Any ideas what else it may be? We live in an area where there are no service people to come and look at it, so we are trying to figure this out on our own.

More info is needed --is it a tube type, or solid state type amp ( any ID on the amp would help) ?
Does that phono have a seperate pre-amp installed (ID #?) ?
Is your needle good ? Do you have he volume turned up ? Do you have a "remote" volume control attached?
What type "fuse" did you order ?
Was anyone "messing around" inside the phono prior to this happening ?
Answer the above, and hopefully we can progress from there--

All good advice from Ron in order to find out what happened to your amplifier.
If you let us know what country you reside in we can point you in the correct location for spare parts or engineers.

The 1969 Rowe Ami Music Miracle MM3 was available with a change of three different front screens (Moon Burst, Spinning Wheels and Flower Girl, a Christmas panel was also to be made available hower I have never seen one) and the option to add on two column speakers that matched the jukebox to form a wall of sound.

The amplifier would more than likely have been transistor rather than valve, around this time Rowe Ami produced some poor transistor amplifiers starting with the MM1 but went back to valve amplifiers by the MM5/MM6.

I really don't know how to answer your questions. I believe it is an amp type, but I don't know where to get an ID. The serial # for the juke is 771832 if that helps. The needle is brand new and the volume is turned up. There is no remote installed on the juke. The fuse I ordered was a GMQ-2. The old one looked fine, but we tried a new one anyway - no change.

When the records play you can slightly hear it when you have the top open and bend down close to the turntable, but you can't adjust the sound and the sound does not come out of the speakers. Sorry, I am electronically challenged and do not know the meaning of the different parts or what they do - I just like to play my music, but I like it better when I can hear it

I am located in Lancaster, California (about 60 miles north of Los Angeles)

The manual I have says, "The preamplifier and amplifier unit amplifies phonograph cartridge output and drives the speaker system."

We are quite a ways from El Monte. Another gentleman told me about Mr. Rowe in El Monte. He said I would have to transport the jukebox to him and return to pick it up when it was finished as Mr. Rowe no longer makes housecalls. Quite a costly situation that I cannot afford at the moment. As I was looking through the internet before finding your site, I came across the name of Bret who says he services all of southern California - 7 days a week. I believe he has a website called Penuin Pinball, but I only wrote down his phone number which is in San Bernardino somewhere. Have you heard anything about him? good or bad

As I recall you should have a tube type power amp. Dim the room lights and look for a dim red orange glow in the center of each tube.

You say your juke was working fine, how many weeks ago was that?
