Hello!
I have an old seeburg Jukebox Seeburg SS160 were I have been working on.
My problem was as follows:
the motor scans perfectly but when I wanted to play a song, he scans towards the record, picks it up, but pushes it back as soon as the needle touches it.
A guy told me I had to de-assemble my machine, remove al the gummy oil and relube everything that moved.
That's what I did. (I didn't fully remove the clutch, maybe that's something I need to do...)
When i finished lubing, I wanted to try if everything still worked correctly (while my machine was still de-assembled) and then I found out that the motor can't even scan anymore... I also found out that when I pushed two wheels closer to each other on top of the motor, he would scan. That moment he would even pick up and play records! The only thing I had to do was keep this two wheels together while the motor was moving...
But there's more... when i re-assembled the whole machine, i thought that he would be able to play records (as long as i pushed those two wheels together) but that was not the case.
So the following problems remain:
-the motor will only scan if I push together two wheels
-the motor does not go to the record I asked for to take it
I really hope that someone can help me and appreciate any help you can provide.
Gill
