Hi,
I'm hoping someone can help with a few pointers.
I just purchased my second jukebox, a 1972 Wurlitzer Superstar, Model 3600.
It is very clean and well preserved from only two past owners. I was told that they didn't have any problems and it was also professionally detailed four years ago. In the move to storage evidently it quit working. This is now my jukebox that isn't working.
It does power on and the lights go on. Also, the record carousel does function when in scan mode. However, that is it.
It has the coin operation assembly in tact and when I put a quarter in it it doesn't light up to say that I have any "plays" coming, but it does seem to take my selection such as "A7", etc. However, that is the extent of it. There is no movement after punching the song. Nothing at all. No carousel movement, no grabbing for the record and no record player/tone arm movement. Just dead. Everything looks to be intact as it is clear that the owner kept it very clean but obviously something is wrong.
Is it possible that I'm missing anything simple? When I got it off the truck I loosened the four screws that were tightened for shipping. Is it possible something else is hanging it up?
Is there a way to bypass the coin operation and just do free play?
I get the feeling it is something minor that needs to be tweaked and I don't want to mess around only to ruin it.
I would appreciate any suggestions/advice.
Thanks.
