Seeburg V200 Volume Problem

by PTL8GRANDKIDS » Mon Apr 20, 2015 1:42 am

Hi Everyone, Upon turning on my Seeburg V200 today, I was surprised with a volume issue. This continued on for a short time, at which time I shut down the machine for fear of possible further damage. The volume would start out normal and then drop low, there was no popping or crackling noises during this issue. Your help would be appreciated. Thank You, Preston Prue--Syracuse NY.

Hi Preston,
When was the last time that amplifier was properly serviced ??
There can be several things that will cause that--don't worry, as most likely, none will "hurt it" more--
Could be as simple as the squelch contacts on the mechanism are dirty, squelch plug on the amp dirty. One or more of the tubes not making good contact in it's socket. Try "wiggling" the above things around while it's playing, to see if you can get it to act up-- Ron Rich
