Seeburg VL-200 Drum Fluorescent

I usually find that jukebox manufacturers make it really easy to replace lamps etc. Generally it is not something you need to consult the manual for. However, I am left scratching my head when it comes to replacing the drum lamp in my VL-200 and after looking at the manual I am no nearer.

You'll "enjoy" this work:

1) Roll drum cover up and remove the light bar just under the mech.

2) Disconnect AC plug at left of drum assembly, disconnect both plugs at the right side of the assembly.

3) Pull outward and slide slightly sideways the two locking levers at the bottom of the drum assembly.

4) Using the two handles at the ends of the drum assembly, tilt it slightly towards you and lift it out.

5) The tube and starter slides out from the left side of the drum

Be careful to place the plugs out of the way so they don't get caught on the drum assembly as you lift it out or damaged by it on the way back.

It is heavy so have a table nearby.

Be -very- careful in replacing the multi-pin plugs on the right side as it is possible to incorrectly reinsert the large one and burn out the main transformer. It has a key to guide it but I've seen that broken off on one of the VL's that I bought.

Personally, with four V-Vl and K models on location I plan to use an LED sub for the tube when my stock of 20w tubes is depleted.

Hi Rob, Keith, and all,
Ain't that almost "word for word" from the V I and O manual??
One word of caution--the so called "AC plugs"( sockets), are NOT supplying "normal" 117 AC ! Do NOT, as I saw someone do, plug in a soldering gun to either one !!! Ron Rich

Thanks Rob, I will try and follow that and see how I get on.
Ron, you are probably right about the manual. I only have the service manual, and there is no mention in there how to remove the drum. It only tells you how to align it.

Keith

Hi Keith,
A good reason to purchase the "Manual Set", from a "legitimate seller"--
