Wurlitzer Model 2800 Won't Load Record

by Joe F » Sun Sep 28, 2014 4:23 pm

Hello - I have a Wurlitzer model 2800 jukebox. When a selection is made the solenoid engages and the buttons stay engaged; however, the record does not load. The system sits idle. The carousel spins freely and there are no obstructions. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Joe,
I don't quite understand your problem--If the buttons on the keyboard are remaining "down", the solenoid is NOT "engaged", it is DIS-engaged ? If this is the case, the problem lies somewhere in the keyboard, and/or the selection relay. If you have the Service Manual, read the keyboard section--check/ "clean"(see above posted "sticky") all switches, and make sure the mechanical "switch pushers" are free to operate. Ron Rich

Ron,

Thanks for the quick response. My mistake, I assumed the solenoid was engaged since the buttons are staying down. I need to get the service manual and check the section you referred to.

It won't "fix" the problem, but sometimes giving the buttons a little extra push causes them to release and pop back up. Gid.
