AMI G-120

by bben486 » Tue May 05, 2015 10:12 pm

I have a AMI g-120 and well am having problems. Once the machine is powered on, the turntable goes over to the far left of the machine and just stays there no matter what I do even if i make a selection. Any suggestions on what to look for (also a picture of what to look for as I am an extreme beginner would be appreciated) ? Also, does anyone have a scan of the manual for this machine? Thanks so much! :D

Hi. If your G-120 mech is about the same as my F-120 mech, which the pictures I've seen shows that it is, you may have the same problem I originally had. These boxes were made along time ago and the original wiring had lost its insulation, so back in the day, someone used lamp cord to rewire the power cable to the turntable. Mine was not quite long enough, so when the turntable, moved by the rear chain, got all the way to the left, the short wires would stop the turntable from moving. I don't have pictures yet, but look at the bottom left side of your turntable, in between the shiny bars, and just under the gripper arm motor when the machine is all the way too the left. If the wires are really tight, you'll need to remove and rewire them to the proper length. My motors were pretty well seized up as well, so I had 2 problems. Well, really, many more, but only 2 in this area.
