Nice 40s or 50s 78rpm player with electronic stylus.

by imfast101 » Sat Apr 28, 2012 11:02 pm

Looking for a nice player to play my 78s on and 45s actually too. I don't want to play my 78s on my wind up acoustic gramophones for fear of damaging records. I'd like something that looks neat, maybe a console or something with a stand from late 50s? I have an idea of what I want I just can't figure how to write it down. I have a 70s telex console, 72 Rowe ami mm6 juke, 2 Edisons standard and home, a hmv 103, 1912 Columbia, 1940 silver tone radio in case anyone was wondering lol

Have you checked out any of the thrift stores in your area? You may run accross a few nice portables. Unless you have a keen eye, a suitcase portable looks well...like a suitcase LOL. Many of those have 4-speed changers and 45 adapters. Unless there's something special about them, they are cheap. Good luck in your search. --BB

Thanks for the reply! I've destroyed the local stores lol I found a nice philco console, looked great, plugged it in and only two tubes lit up and nothing else worked. Turn table had parts underneath it! I don't need another project lol I like the first one u showed, something like that with a stand. I've seen some really cool 50s rocket era looking players on eBay once or twice but wouldn't ship :-(.

Available NOW! EXCELLENT condition, late 1950's RCA Victor Orthophonic Stereo Phonograph. I will sell for $250. I am in Long Island, NY. You can either pick it up or I can ship it to you (at your expense).
