Rock-ola princess 1943 selection problem

by condar_1 » Sun Apr 15, 2007 12:45 pm

I'm in the process of restoring a rockola 1943 princess. Here is the problem in short.

You put the money in and the juke plays the 3rd selection form the last cycle / sequence and the first 2 selections for the current sequence. This continues each time. Basically, you hear the last cycle's last long first and your screwed out of the last song until you drop in some more change.

Any suggestions?

sounds like something is sticking somewhere. I would manually cancelling all the pins and, clean all the selecor contacts and try again. Possible your reject switch is not working properly. best advice would be to invest in a service manual if you dont already have one.

good luck

I'd say the credit counter has gotten one off from the position it is supposed to be in, or its switch blade is bent. The unit is shutting off because it ran out of credits, not because it can't find the last selection.

R/O 1943?

Are you sure that it's not a 1493 model? If so, and it has the records stored on the left, and the selector pins on the right, you most likely have a weak / broken wobble switch retaining spring. Ron Rich
