Records are made of vinyl, yes, so let's call them by their proper name - records, played on a "record player".
As far as operating the unit, it's basically just common sense.
Tone controls, balance, volume, source selection.
AFC and mono are marked as being a "pull on/off" switch.
The RCA "tape" jacks on the rear can be used for a stand-alone CD player, etc.
If the unit hasn't been serviced recently,it's a good idea to procure the services of someone experienced in those RCA Victor chassis, because by now they all need work, including the record changers.
I know.
I've done plenty of them for people.
The Internet is a marvelous thing, however it's not a good substitute for actually being there.
