SEEBURG m100c

by dddloving » Fri May 27, 2011 10:43 pm

I have a Seeburg M100C jukebox and I was wondering if you could help me. It wants to reject the record when the needle lands on it. What needs to be done? Thanks-Deb

Hi Deb,
It needs to be "fixed"-- Many things can contribute to that fault. Do you have the Service Manual, do you have a copy of my "Seeburg Mechanism Guide", and do you have mechanical/electrical skills? Ron Rich

OK--then give this a try--remove the mechanism cover, and locate the "release lever" --Once you have done so, make a selection, and watch that lever--it should "fly up" , and then come down, at the time the record comes up the ramp. Do it a couple of times--hold down on it at the point it should be down--let me know if the record now plays, or not--

Did you hold down on the lever at the point the record comes up--if so, what happened while you were holding it-??

IF I CONTINUE TO HOLD IT DOWN, IT STARTS TO BUZZ AND BYPASSES ALL SELECTIONS. BUT WHEN I TAKE MY FINGER OFF, IT WILL SELECT AND THEN EJECT. BUT, I CAME BACK TO THE COMPUTER TO TELL YOU AND IT SELECTED AND IS PLAYING. SO, I WILL SELECT MORE AND SEE. OK, AND I AM HAVING TO MANUALLY USE THE EJECT BECAUSE WHEN IT REACHES THE END IT WILL NOT EJECT IT BUT IS PLAYING.
OK, HAVE LISTENED TO ABOUT 10 RECORDS, BUT THEY WILL NOT EJECT AND THE NEEDLE WILL EITHER EJECT BACK TO THE END OF THE RECORD BUT NOT EJECT IT, AND WHEN THE NEEDLE LANDS ON THE RECORD, IT STARTS PAST THE START OF THE RECORD. I HOPE I AM MAKING SENSE.
I APPRECIATE ALL YOUR HELP WITH THIS, AS I LIVE IN RURAL EAST TEXAS, AND NO ONE TO SERVICE HERE FOR ABOUT 150 MILES.

OK--that's' what I needed to know--You have end of record "trip switch" problems--do you have a camera--can you send me a photo of that switch--showing the counterbalance spring setting ? -and the wires going to the front of it ?? Ron Rich
