Vintage Seeburn Select O'Matic Jukebox 1950's Era

See if you can figure out why he is having trouble with the sound?

I do not know much about these complicated machines, but I think I know where the sound went

Well, I don't apparently see what you have seen ? Looks to me that both needles are there, and since he did not put up a photo of the rear insides, I can't see the amp, on that "rarefely good shape Seeburn" ?? Ron Rich

Matt quoted what the person said in the description a "broken tube that is barely noticeable!" I am guessing that this is why he has problems with the sound Of course I have little knowledge in these matters.

Since that is a M-100C, I ASSUMED, he meant that one of the 12, "Glass Tubes" in the outside front grill, was the broken one--not an Amp tube ?? Ron Rich

Ron, even in my limited aquaintences with jukeboxes, to sell a "not really working" juke for $500 is just plain greed.
But then again, for Greedbay, this is the norm.
Even IF the "cosmetic" appearance items like the glass tube you mentioned were broken, the fact remains that the electronics are in need of attention, since there's a no sound issue.
It's possible that worse-case events have happened, such as a fried power transformer, or whatever.
People are just ignorant when it comes to maintainence, or usage of vintage equipment.
I see it all the time in my field.
Mostly all they want out of those "sales" sites is to "take the money and run".

Well, since it is a "Seeburn", not a Seeburg, machine, yea, I guess $500. is kinda high--However, if it were a Seeburg, and it was PROPERLY restored, it would be worth about $5-6 k---- Ron Rich

Maybe since it is called a See -BURN ------- maybe it's 'cause it burned up some stuff inside!
